The Future of Vaping: Ecigclopedia’s Predictions

While more and more people are choosing vaping as a healthier alternative to smoking, e-cigarette manufacturers come up with more powerful and more advanced products to make vaping even more enjoyable and pleasant. E-cig product sales are increasing sharply, and a person with a 100W box mod in their hands is not a rare sight anymore, even in public.

However, the question still stays the same: is vaping really the future, but smoking – the past? This time, let’s take a not too scientific, but fun look at the possible future of vaping!

The Future of Vaping

Time Period: 2016-2020

Vaping vs. smoking: Due to bans and regulations issued by many governments, vaping is not taking off as smoothly as predicted before. Although concerns about e-cigarette effects on health are fading, a lot of people still lack knowledge in the vaping field. However, tobacco sales are slowly decreasing, and the business in the vape field is booming worldwide.

Vaping hardware: Sub-ohm clearomizers – that’s the way to go. In the end of the decade, the leading manufacturers have been able to perfect their technologies related to heating coils, wicking systems and vapor delivery, and they are now focusing on experiments with innovative milliohm builds. Battery capacity has grown significantly, allowing vapers to enjoy chasing clouds even for a week without charging their devices, although power, design and functionality of mods have not grown or changed much, causing compatibility problems with the new and much anticipated milliohm clearomizers.

E-liquids: More and more ‘micro’ e-liquid labs and home businesses are being established all over the world and show great success. Vapers can now taste almost every flavor imaginable; savory flavors are in the spotlight. However, the manufacturers can’t keep up with the hardware – as the devices become more and more powerful, many users often experience burnt taste and other issues with their e-juices.

Time Period: 2021-2025

Vaping vs. smoking: After a series of recent, groundbreaking studies proving that vaping non-nicotine e-liquids is completely safe for humans, worldwide e-cigarette sales have almost doubled in a time period of three months. In most countries, e-cigarette starter kits are being sold in stores next to tobacco cigarettes. A huge number of tobacco companies have resorted to producing innovative vaping products. However, some governments have still fully or partially banned e-cigarettes, so mass protests are often taking place.

Vaping hardware: The most passionate vapers enjoy exceptionally dense clouds of vapor coming out of their milliohm tanks, while the majority of entry level e-cig starter kits come with compact 5 000 mAh batteries and easy-to-maintain sub-ohm clearomizers. There have been many breakthroughs in relation to e-liquid heating systems, and now it is possible to vape on very high wattages (200-500W) without burning your juice.

E-liquids: E-liquid mixing machines look very promising – these systems, which look just like ATMs on the outside, allow everyone to mix their own e-liquid by selecting the components and the desired flavor on a touchscreen. However, this is not a trend yet, because the necessity to scan your ID to prove that you’re in the legal age of vaping before receiving your e-liquid is too cumbersome for some.

Time Period: 2026-2030

Vaping vs. smoking: Smoking traditional tobacco cigarettes, cigars and pipes is still present, especially in developing countries, but the sales of these products have been almost outpaced by the vape industry. Although vaping is not exactly considered as part of a healthy lifestyle simply because a lot of people still use nicotine in their e-liquids, studies involving the ‘first generation of vapers’ who have been vaping for around twenty years now, have proved that electronic cigarettes, when used in combination with non-nicotine e-liquids, have no harming effect on human health in long-term.

Vaping hardware: Looks like the triumph of box mods has finally ended, as the devices available in the market are becoming thinner and more cylindrical. They look almost like those eGo batteries back from 2010s, although they’re capable of firing down to 0.001 ohm and leaving your room into a completely impenetrable fog. The race for watts and ohms is also nearing the end, and the leading e-cig companies are now focusing more on ergonomics, design, functionality and other aspects of vaping devices.

E-liquids: Thanks to a newly synthesized substance which can be used as a better alternative to propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin, some manufacturers have started to produce a new type of e-liquid in the end of the decade. Although it is quite expensive, it produces much more flavor and a smoother, silkier vape. Vapers are having a lot of fun, as the whole experience is much different with this new e-juice. However, recent studies claim that the new e-liquid base can actually be very harmful, and there are little evidence of its effects on human body.
