6 Signs That You Need To Change Your Vape Coil

Vape Coils Last Longer

Vape coils are a crucial component of any vaporizer. The coil goes through regular heating and cooling, which wears it out after some time. Several other factors could also reduce the efficiency of vaporization or damage the coil, thus requiring a replacement.

Given vaping is an intuitive experience, paying attention to critical signs during the process can help you identify when your coil needs a replacement. Here are six signs to watch out for that indicate you need a new coil.

1. Poor E-liquid Flavors

The taste of your e-liquid is the strongest indicator of your coil’s health. Most e-liquids have bold flavor profiles that make the vapors tasty. But when your coil is damaged, it severely affects the taste of these vapors that might start feeling blank or a little off.

If you have been using the e-juice for a very long time, you will sense that the vapors don’t taste like they used to previously. You might not feel the depth of the sweetness of other flavors in the juice. Switching your coil should typically solve this problem almost immediately.

Coils lingering with flavors is yet another problem that calls for a replacement. If you have used the coil with a particular e-juice flavor for a long time, switching to a new flavor might induce traces of the previous e-juice into your vapors. You might end up tasting the old flavor dominantly. The best way to avoid this is to use a new coil while changing the flavor to eliminate any previous flavor traces.

2. A Burnt Taste in the Vapor

Sensing a burnt taste in your vapors is one of the most apparent signs of coil or wick damage. When you vape with the same coil for a long time, it is possible that the metal is overused and hence burnt from the heat. This could induce a burnt taste into the e-liquid when it is getting vaporized and ruin your experience.

Burnt taste is also common if you fail to prime the coil after changing the e-liquid. The dry hit could burn the wick and the coil’s surface significantly, thus damaging the part.

Try to clean the coil thoroughly and check if the brunt taste goes away. If you are sensing a strong burnt flavor even after cleaning, then your coil is in dire need of replacement. You can buy vape pen amazon or vape coils for a high-quality replacement.

3. Gurgling

If you hear a gurgling sound each time you fire up your vape, the symptom points to operating with an old coil that desperately requires a replacement. The gurgling sound when you inhale means that the coil is not functioning properly. The coil might be damaged, which is causing inefficient vaporization.

Replace your coil immediately and check for the noise again when you are vaping. If you fixed the coil properly in the slot, there should be no noise. But if the gurgling sound continues, it could indicate a bigger problem with your vape that might require either cleaning or other replacements.

4. Excess Gunk Build-up

Sometimes examining your coil can also give away if it is burnt. Flash some light on top of the coil head, and if you see black gunk, black crust, or spots on the wick, it is time to consider a replacement.

Although it might not appear to be a huge problem, it can cause several heating problems and ruin the taste of the e-liquid.

5. Leaky Vape

Nobody likes a leaky vape. It is a complete waste of the e-juice and is, of course, quite messy to clean up every time. Using a very old coil could be one of the reasons why your vape is leaking.  Start by accessing the o-rings and the tank for any abnormalities that could cause the leak. If everything is in good condition, the chances are that your coil is damaged and leaking the e-juice.

The best way to solve the problem would be to replace the coil as the leak could potentially induce more issues to your device, rendering it useless eventually. Make sure to choose a good coil with an appropriate material compatible with your device for best performance.

6. Very Low Vapor Density

Dense cloudy vapors are essential to have a satisfying vaping experience. But if you notice that the vapor density is degrading each day, it indicates that your coil is old. The coil plays a critical role in converting the e-juice into vapors. Any sign of low vapor density indicates that your coil is losing its capability to vaporize correctly.

High temperatures of vaporizers can burn the coils after repeated usage, and hence it is necessary to replace them to achieve better performance. If you find that the vapor density is declining very often, it might be time to reconsider your coil’s quality and material. Explore choices such as mesh coils that provide a larger surface area that ensures uniform heating to reduce damage to the coil. They can also produce thick and potent vapors.

Conclusion

If you identify any of the above symptoms, it is time to replace your vape coil to enjoy your experience. Make sure to clean the coil regularly to reduce gunk formation that could affect your coil’s lifetime. Avoid using VG rich liquids as they tend to gunk up your coil too much.

Also, check for signs of damage while cleaning to replace the coil if necessary. If you are a regular vaper, we suggest that you change your coils more frequently to enjoy the flavors and nicotine seamlessly.
