5 Vaping Myths and The Science That Debunks Them
Vaping is the new smoking. It has been more popular in recent years as a smoking cessation alternative. Companies like Greenlite Supply, known for their vaping accessories and herbal infuser products, have also emerged as a response to the rise in demand. More and more people are vaping. In the same manner, misinformation is also rampant. That being said, this post will debunk some of the most popular myths about vaping.
After knowing the truth about vaping, you might just be convinced to give it a try and invest in a number of vaping accessories, including a rosin heat press!
Myth #1: It is a Gateway to Smoking
Especially for paranoid, conservative, and uneducated parents, it is common to assume that vaping is a gateway to smoking. However, this is actually one thing that is completely unfounded. In fact, it does exactly the opposite. Vaping helps people to quit smoking. Also, it is important to point out that even the Centers for Disease Control confirmed that even if there is an increase in the use of e-cigarettes, it is not directly linked to an increase in the rate of smokers.
Myth #2: Vaping Liquid Contains Anti-Freeze
The truth is that an anti-freeze contains diethylene glycol, which is its main ingredient. E-cigarettes, on the other hand, contain vegetable glycol and propylene glycol. The latter can be found even in asthma inhalers. In fact, in one study that has been conducted in rats, the results showed that aerosolized mixture, which includea propylene glycol, have no toxicity on the subjects.
Myth #3: It is not an effective Cessation Device
To try is to believe! If you are a smoker, you might want to give vaping a try and see if it won’t really make you quit smoking. In one study published at the BMJ Journals, the authors conclude that the long-term use of e-cigarettes have been associated with a higher rate of smoking cessation, although it should be noted that the study finds that the same cannot be said when it comes to short-term use.
Myth #4: Vapes are Explosive
For sure, you have read about it in the newspapers or you might have even seen videos of how an e-cigarette suddenly bursts into fire. This hinders many people from giving vape a shot. The FDA has provided guidelines on how to prevent the battery explosions in a vape, which include choosing a high-quality product with top-notch safety features, replacing damaged batteries, and not overcharging the battery.
Myth #5: Vaping Causes Cancer
Those who are against vaping will consistently bring this up to show that vaping is dangerous. Nonetheless, this is not true. According to British American Tobacco, a UK-based organization, e-cigarettes do not emit toxic substances that can lead to cancer. This was based on a laboratory study that monitored the effects of normal cigarette and an e-cigarette in the collected cells.
Stop ignorance about vaping! Be informed and do not be one of the victims of false information!
