Does vaping show up on a drug test (CBD)?

Workplace drug tests are getting increasingly common these days – and understandably so! However, if you are someone who enjoys vaping CBD Hemp Oil occasionally even though if you do not consume any other cannabis-based products, it is natural that you question if your vape will show up on the drug test. You do not want to fail the test after all.

Before we go into the details on this matter, rest assured, you are safe. It is highly unlikely that vape will show up in your drug test!

How do drug tests work?

To clearly understand why exactly vape does not appear in your drug test, it is good to have a basic knowledge of how drug tests are done. In a drug test, you are usually tested for the substance called Tetrahydrocannabinol, commonly known as THC. While CBD Hemp Oil does contain THC, the amounts contained are too small to be detected on a drug test. When your employer contacts a drug screening facility to carry out the drug test, they are required to set the limit in which the test will back as positive.

This limit is often set due to the standards of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, in which the limit is similar to or slightly deviated from 50ng/ml. The limit is hardly ever set to 0 since it has many practical problems if done so. For this reason, even though you will have some traces of THC in your urine due to vaping, that amount will not exceed the set drug test limit due to how miniature it relatively will be.

THC Percentage in vape

The percentage of THC in the CBD oil for vape can be varied due to geographical regions. In the United States, currently, it is 0.3% or less. In the common CBD products, this percentage is a lot closer to 0.1%. This amount is extremely negligible even in the most sensitive drug tests. If you are vaping occasionally or even once a day, you will be able to pass a drug test easily without a trace of THC in the results. However, if you vape extremely high amounts (1000mg+) on a daily basis, technically these can be a chance for your results to be positive.

Precautions

If you work in a field with frequent drug tests, it is always required to take some precautions to make sure that your tests always come clean. When you vape, try to stick to good quality and lab tested products since more often than not, quality CBD products mean that they have very safe and low amounts of THC.

When you know that there is a drug test coming, it does not hurt to decrease your frequency of vaping, especially if you are used to vaping in large amounts in your sessions. You can also contact your Human Resource Department and see their rules for CBD Hemp products and vape since many companies are increasingly becoming friendlier towards CBD hemp-based products.
