How To Energize Yourself Without Coffee Or Energy Drinks

When you’re feeling low energy, it can seem like the world is against you; every task at work can feel like a mountain, social engagements seem to drag on for hours, and the small pleasurable moments that make up life are all but missed. Culturally, the common solution to these problems is to chug coffee or energy drinks or inhale a sugary snack; not only do these solutions have a short period of effectiveness, they actually leave you more tired once you crash than when you began, starting a terrible cycle that results with you getting more tired and more tired. The following will explore a few things you can do to energize yourself that don’t involve caffeine or sugar.

Get Your Allergies Tested

You might think you’re fatigued, but you might just be dealing with massive amounts of inflammation due to allergies or sensitivities. The inflammation can result in less oxygen being absorbed when you breathe, creating feelings of tiredness. If you discover you have allergies, remove the allergens from your life and seek out an air filter (especially for when you’re sleeping). Do not rely on allergy medication on a regular basis as it not only causes drowsiness but severely damages your gut bacteria which can have a brutal impact on your mood, sleep, and energy levels.

Breathe Through Your Nose

Breathing through your nose results in 30% more oxygen being absorbed by your body. Oxygen-rich blood increases awareness, alertness, focus, energy, creativity, concentration, memory, and mood. If you can’t breathe through your nose and you’re not sick, don’t accept congestion as part of life that you simply have to deal with; interpret it as your body telling you something in the air is making breathing difficult.

Find High-Energy Foods

There are foods that can help boost your energy levels. Things like hot peppers or CBG for energy can help give your body the vitality you need to keep moving. It’s also quite common that a lack of good calories is responsible for poor energy levels; focus on healthy fats, nuts, herbs, and organic produce. Animal products can help increase energy provided they are not conventionally raised, grass-fed and finished, organic, have no added hormones, and are antibiotic-free.

There are also foods that tire you out. Bad fats, sugary snacks, grains, and foods high in toxins (particularly the heavy metals in fish and shellfish) all contribute to lethargy.

Clean The Air

If the air is full of dander, fragrance, aerosol products, or cleaning products, this can contribute to inflammation and tiredness. Seek only natural cleaning products (especially in your bedroom) that are fragrance-free; vinegar is your new best friend. Most standard cleaning products fill the air with chemicals that your body is struggling to deal with, causing tiredness. Get house plants; they’ve been shown to clean the air and boost oxygen levels in a given room. Finally, address any mould you find immediately as mould spores, when breathed in, can cause a ton of health problems, including lethargy; if mould growth is common in your home, get a dehumidifier.

The above tips should help you combat fatigue and lethargy. Of course, there is the possibility that you are simply tired. Nothing replaces sleep.
