How to Fix a Disposable Vape Pen

Disposable vape pens are a great invention. Designed to be used until the vape oil runs out and then replaced with another, they are among the most versatile and convenient vape pens around. They are also affordable, simple to use and can be bought containing many different oils.

A 5ml vape pen will last for around 225 draws. That’s quite a few and should give the average user a good lifespan. But what do you do when something goes wrong? The simple fact is that these items are intended to simply get out of the box and start using. They are not meant to be fixed – nor are they meant to go wrong!

However, things can go wrong with any vape pen, so what are the problems experienced with disposable vape pens, and what can you do to fix them? More to the point, how can you prevent such problems occurring? That’s what we want to look at in this brief article, so let’s get started!

What Can Go Wrong with a Disposable Vape Pen?

A disposable vape pen comes with a pre-filled cartridge containing the oil of your choice. It also includes a miniature battery which powers a coil. The coil is heated to a set temperature at which the liquid is vaporized, producing the vape cloud that the user inhales. That’s the basics of a disposable pen, so what can go wrong? Following are the main problems with these items.

Low Fluid Level

If you’re not familiar with this type of device, we strongly recommend you check out VapeNico who are an established brand in a hotly contested market. Their products are of a renowned quality, and we will return to that point later on. So, you’re not getting the vape cloud you have previously been getting from your vape pen. The first thing to do is check the fluid level.

We said above that on average a 5ml vape pen will give 225 draws. However, this will vary depending on how you use it. If you take longer and slower draws on the pen it will use the liquid faster. If you run your pen at a higher temperature the same will occur. Check your fluid level and if it’s low or empty, it’s time for a new pen. These types of vape pen cannot be refilled, so you may want to look your vaping habits for longer life.

However, if you’ve been using it normally and it’s run down, there might be a leak, so let’s check that.

Leaks

Your disposable vape will come with instructions not just for use but also for storage. Some factors may influence the item and damage it – storing it at too high a temperature, for example. Always follow the manufacturer instructions for storage and usage to prevent damage that might cause a leak.

However, the usual cause of leakage is actually poor-quality control that results in inferior products. In either case there is little you can do other than complain to your retailer and buy a new vape pen.

Dead Battery

The battery in a disposable vape is another component that can fail. The battery fitted should last as long as the liquid in the compartment does. Once again, incorrect use – not following the manufacturer instructions – can lead to the battery reaching the end of its life prematurely. Some disposable pens do have rechargeable batteries, but even these will eventually reach the end of their life.

If you take a pen out of the box and the battery light – assuming there is one – shows a dead battery, the only course of action is to return and ask for a refund or replacement, which any reputable vape retailer will be more than happy to do.

Blockages

If you are using your vape pen and it is performing as it should except you are not getting the amount of vape you were, it is possible it needs cleaning. In particular, residue can build up in the mouthpiece, restricting the efficiency of the device quite considerably. There is plenty of advice on vaping forums and blogs that will help you learn how to keep your vape pen clean and efficient throughout. That’s the main problems, so what can we do about them?

Solution to Problems

As we mentioned at the beginning disposable vape pens are not meant to be fixed. Cleaned, yes, but there is little that can be done when they malfunction. The answer lies in preventing these problems from occurring. How best to do this? Research the market and talk to retailers to find the respected brands that are known for reliable products and avoid those that are too cheap to be true!

We hope this article has helped you understand more about disposable vape pens, and that you enjoy your vaping.
