Dry herb vaporizers are special vaporizers designed to bring cannabis to a high enough temperature where the cannabinoids and terpenes inside the herb will begin to evaporate and can be inhaled.
Dry Herb Vaporizers usually are made up of the following parts :
Battery – The battery can often be the difference between a good vaporizer and a great one. The most popular kind of batter is a lithium-ion battery due to their ability to be recharged hundreds of times with limited degradation to the battery.
Oven – Ovens are where your herbs are heated before you enjoy them. The best materials are ceramic, glass and stainless steel. It is advisable to avoid any vaporizer with a plastic oven due to the release of toxins.
Airpath – This is the tube that carries the vapour from the oven to the mouthpiece. The best air paths cool the vapour down before it reaches your mouth.
Mouthpiece – This is where you inhale your herbs. You’ll want a mouthpiece that doesn’t affect the taste and has decent draw resistance.
What are the best dry herb vaporizers?
There are literally hundreds of cannabis vaporizers available to buy today and they all have their own advantages and weaknesses. Out of all the UK dry herb vaporizers, my favourite is The Mighty due to its vapour production and flavours it produces. However, I advise you to do your own research to find the best mode for you depending on your budget and what materials you vape most.
Should I grind my cannabis before placing in the vaporizers oven?
Grinding isn’t necessary but it is recommended! The finer your herbs are ground, the more surface area will be available to be exposed to the heat. This will help ensure that the entire herbal contents of your oven are evenly heated and will provide the most consistent levels of vapour.
If your herbs are not ground evenly, you’ll end up wasting more cannabis in the long run.
Do Dry herb vaporizers smell
Dry herb vaporizers do produce a smell! The smell is definitely less than a smell from smoking but anyone who tells you there is no smell is lying to you!
To a degree, the smell produced depends on how pungent your weed is and also the specific vaporizer you’re using.
Unlike smoking, vaping does not fill a whole house with the smell of burning weed. As a rule of thumb, whilst a person in another room should not be able to smell what you’re vaporizing a person sitting next to you would.
Another advantage is any smell dissipates much quicker than smoking fumes too.
What are the best temperatures for dry herb vaporizers?
Any vaporizer worth its weight in salt offers at least some degree of control over the temperature of the herbal vaporizer.
There is more to cannabis than just THC. There are over 120 cannabinoids in the plant that all have different effects on the human body and they evaporate at different temperatures too.
The effects of different temperatures will vary on the strain of herb you’re vaping but generally, low temperatures of 150°C – 160°C will have a mood-enhancing effect, medium temperatures of 160°C – 180°C will have an energetic effect whilst high temperatures of up to 210°C will induce couch lock and get you ready to sleep!
