Vaporesso Forz TX80 Kit Review

vaporesso forz tx80 kit review

Vaporessa has released the new Forz TX80 kit. For a while now, the company has been creating some really good mods with great chipsets. The Forz TX80 leverages its Axon 2.0 chip.

In the kit, you will find the Forz TX80 mod, which is a single-18650 rugged and water-resistant box mod rated at 80 watts, and the Forz 25 sub-ohm tank.

First impressions

As soon as I saw the kit, I felt that this was the Vaporesso version of the Aegis Solo, which is a pretty good thing as the overall number of options increase in the market.  The Forz makes use of all the characteristics of the Axon chipset.

What stood out was the fact that the tank was coated with fiberglass, plastic, and soft rubber. This rugged tank is ideal for clumsy people. The glass is properly protected and the tank is quite durable. The design is quite satisfactory.

Build quality and design

Forz TX80 is a product that is lightweight and compact. It is rugged and water-resistant, similar to the Geekvape Aegis line of mods. However, the latter is IP67-rated, while the former does not list anything like that. The product is solid, without being heavy. Right above the screen is situated the fire button, which is a basic rectangle. In between the screen and the menu buttons, they have incorporated the up and down buttons. The USB-C port is situated on the side, right behind a rubber plug. It comes with a 0.69-inch black and white screen, which is very clear. While a color screen would have worked well, the company has been moving away from them for a while. The screen largely resembles that of the Gen S.

Features and functions

There are many features of the Forz TX80 that resemble other mods of Vaporesso. The system comes with Pulse Mode, Power Eco, Smart TC, and DIY Mode, enabling you to choose the standard modes of Power, such as normal, hard and soft preheats, Temp Control (SS, Ni200, Ti, and one TCR memory slot), Voltage Mode, Bypass Mode, Super Player Mode and their new “F(t)” mode. The Smart and Auto modes can also be found in the settings menu. However, the watt curve mode is no longer present, which is an amazing model and one that is better than several newly incorporated modes.

Moreover, the output can be adjusted by their new F(t) mode while you vape. However, when comparisons were drawn between it at 50 watts and 50 watts in power mode, there was no difference noted. While I do enjoy good innovation, unfortunately, the majority of the new modes are not useful at all.  In fact, this would have worked better if they just used their basics of power (with preheats and curves) Temp mode, Voltage mode, and Bypass. A standard TCR is used by the TC mode, which is completely adjustable across all modes. While these features are pretty cool, all of this can be achieved using the DIY mode menu. I truly do not understand the point of a Pulse mode and the Super Player mode.

Pros / Cons

  • Good build quality
  • Leather backing (nice soft feel in the hand)
  • Five color options
  • Very lightweight
  • Rugged and water-resistant
  • Handles 25 mm atomizers without overhang
  • Practical battery cap
  • The screen is bright and easy to read
  • Easy to use menu system
  • Good power mode performance
  • Voltage mode available
  • Accurately rated for watts
  • High amp and volt limit

Cons:

  • No color screen
  • No listing for the amp and volt limits on site or manual
  • No Watt Curve mode like previous mods
  • Threading on the tank base not up to the standard
  • Several new modes without actual utility

Summary

Vaporesso has created a good kit, overall. The downsides can be overlooked and it is a pretty good starter kit for sub-ohm vaping. The body is small and rugged, and the device, as well as the tank, works quite well. There are not a lot of complaints. In case you are looking to buy a new kit, the Forz TX80 is a good option.
