How to Make a Vegan Edible at Home?
If you can make some delicious treats in the safety of your own kitchen, why wouldn’t you? Wouldn’t it be way more enjoyable to consume cannabis flowers when they are added to your favorite batch of cookies instead of simply smoking them as usual? Some people also prefer getting the high of cannabis but don’t like smoking, so you can try cooking vegan edibles from them.
The best part is that it doesn’t take much time and you can try making high-end brownies or simple sugary syrup. Knowing the basics of making a simple vegan edible would make it so much easier for you when you’re wondering what to offer your guests when there’s a celebration in your home.
Also, remember that the recipes can be tweaked to your heart’s content. We’re just offering a basic measure. Cannabis also tends to be even more powerful in edible form, so you won’t run out of it easily. And you can also freeze these edibles for a long period of time. Let’s take a look at the cooking process.
The Ingredients
For one, you should have dried cannabis ready at hand and it should be stick free. You can use cannabis flowers in this case or any other found in crushed form.
You are also going to need Olive oil of about 1 tbls, one cup of honey, one cup of cocoa powder, one cup nut butter and one cup of shredded coconut. While we have mentioned an amount, you can increase or decrease the concentration based on what you are comfortable with and what you think would taste best. The fun part of cooking is how much you can experiment with it, isn’t it?
Step 1- Heat up the Herb
How to make the edible you’re about to make have a strong impact? Well, heating it up quickly and in a very light heat should do the trick. Grease the frying pan lightly to make sure the herbs don’t stick to the pan.
Add the crumbled cannabis to the olive oil and heat it for about 10 minutes. Keep the heat low and continue to stir it during that time. Afterward, remove the pan and let it cool down. If you don’t have olive oil, you can use any other oil you prefer.
Step 2- A Mixture of nut Butter and Honey
Now, it’s your turn to heat up honey and butter together. Again, the heat should be low and you should stir it often to make sure the mixture doesn’t get burned. Once it has been warmed up, turn off the heat.
While Peanut butter is a great choice, if you don’t have it, any other nut butter like almond butter would do. You can also replace the honey with any other kind of syrup.
Step 3- Add the Remaining Ingredients
What do we have left? Cocoa powder and coconut, both of which should be now mixed with a mixture of butter and honey. While chocolate lovers would prefer cocoa powder without a doubt, carob powder is just as god of a choice. The stimulating qualities of it are slightly lower than cocoa.
Step 4- Mix It All
Now, mix it all along with the herbs. The mixture should not take on a liquid effect and if possible, it should be even drier than the dough you would make for cookies.
Step 5- Baking Sheet
First, place the baking sheet on a pan. Then, press the mixture into the baking sheet. A spatula should help you flatten it.
Step 6- Freezing
Keep the pan in the freezer for about 30 minutes and longer if you want. This should be enough time for the bar to become completely solid, after which it would be ready for serving.
Final Thoughts
Don’t eat more than 1 or 2 bars at once. While you won’t feel it immediately, the effect would be visible in a few hours and it’s bound to last at least five hours.
